It Pays to be Safe: Earning Cashback with the Onlia Insurance App

How does it work?

All you need to do is download the Onlia Insurance app on Google Play or from the App Store. Create an account and connect your insurance policy – and that’s it. Make sure the app has permission to access your location, and start driving!

After every trip, you’ll be able to see your score in 6 categories – speed, braking, cornering, acceleration, distracted driving, and contextual. Depending on your overall drivescore at the end of the month, you’ll be ranked as a 1-5 star driver.

How much can you earn?

Starting April 1, 2023, Onlia Insurance drivers can earn up to $50 every month. And there are rewards at every level:

• 1-2 star drivers = $5 cashback
• 3-star driver = $10 cashback
• 4-star driver = $40 cashback
• 5-star driver = $50 cashback

How often is cashback paid out?

Cashback rewards are paid out every month! Keep your score up to earn a maximum of $600 a year.

How do you receive cashback?

After you’ve earned a cashback reward, we’ll email you instructions on how to redeem it.

Note that you need to have verified your phone number to be eligible to receive rewards, and will have 10 days to redeem it once you’ve received the email.

Once you redeem a cashback reward in the app, we’ll send an Interac e-Transfer to your email address with instructions on how to deposit your reward.

If you don’t see an email after redeeming the reward, check your junk mail –  and then add catch@payments.interac.ca to your safe senders' list to make sure you don’t miss any ones in the future.

What else can you do with the app?

Onlia car insurance customers can use the app to:

• Access and manage their insurance on the go
• Download their digital pink slip and save it to a mobile wallet  – and never have to dig around the glovebox again.
• Start a claim and submit supporting photos and documents
• Talk to our digital chatbot 24/7 for any questions about insurance or the app
